China has instructed companies to stop purchasing certain Nvidia AI chips, a move that U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson described as a "counterproductive development" during an interview on CNBC Wednesday.
According to a Financial Times report, China’s internet watchdog has directed companies including Alibaba and ByteDance to cancel orders for Nvidia Corp.’s RTX Pro 6000D graphics processing units.
The directive comes amid ongoing tensions between the United States and China over advanced technology access, particularly in the artificial intelligence sector.
