The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD), which rose 3.00% or 2.38 points to trade at 81.62 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) added 2.40% or 35.00 points to end at 1,495.00 and Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:CCH) was up 1.72% or 68.00 points to 4,032.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vistry Group PLC (LON:VTYV), which fell 2.80% or 17.80 points to trade at 619.00 at the close. Smurfit WestRock PLC (LON:SWR) declined 2.69% or 94.00 points to end at 3,403.00 and Barratt Redrow PLC (LON:BTRW) was down 2.56% or 11.10 points to 422.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1003 to 558 and 637 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.02% or 0.62 to $3,343.52 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.00% or 0.67 to hit $66.33 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.64 to trade at $68.16 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.36, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 96.62.
